Are you looking for a good vlogging camera for beginners? I’m going to tell you a few good vlogging cameras that will be good enough for you, especially if you’re a beginner. You may be just starting on YouTube so you might need a good DSLR camera for vlogging or you may already have a good DSLR camera, but you might need a point-and-shoot camera. In short, you need a good vlogging camera for beginners. Right?
Understandably, it becomes difficult at times to pick the right camera gear for vlogging and YouTube videos. Let me tell you something interesting: it doesn’t only happen to vlog beginners, almost every YouTuber and vlogger brainstorms about getting a good camera.
I’ve talked about best vlogging cameras under $500 in the past. If you haven’t had a chance to look at that post, I’d highly recommend checking it out. The reason why I’m talking about a good vlogging camera for beginners is that people keep on asking me about vlogging cameras through Instagram and Facebook. So I thought to write a brief blog post on a few good vlogging camera recommendations. Plus, I’d also be able to comment on these cameras.
However, I don’t introduce myself as a camera expert in any away. I’m just a DSLR camera user and nothing more than that. I like to be transparent and genuine with my readers not just on this blog but also on my other blogs as well.
As far as good vlogging cameras are concerned, I believe that I can pinpoint some of the best and affordable vlogging cameras on the market, but that won’t be the end of the world.
Furthermore, this blog post would recommend mid-range cameras so that vlogging beginners could afford them.
But please be advised, don’t make your buying decision based on this blog post or any blog post from this blog unless you’re 100% sure about it.
So buckle up.
Here are three good vlogging cameras for beginners:
Canon G7X is a go-to camera for a lot of vloggers out there. Perhaps your favorite vlogger on YouTube also uses this camera. Vloggers like Casey Neistat, Alfie Deyes, Zoe Sugg, and many others use this very camera. It’s a point-and-shoot camera from Canon. It has a flip screen, which is the key to vlogging. The key features of this camera are 20.2 MP camera, f/1.8-f/2.8 aperture, 4.2x optical zoom, 3.0″ touch panel LCD, and 1080p Full HD video recording capability.
Nikon D5300 is one of my favorite vlogging cameras. It’s a good vlogging camera for beginners, and it comes with an 18-55mm lens. This vlogging camera is equipped with a 24.2-megapixel DX-format CMOS image sensor, 39-point high-density autofocus system, Full HD 1080p video recording capability, built-in Wi-Fi, built-in GPS, and Ultra-high resolution LCD. Moreover, the options such as external microphone and flip screen make this DSLR camera a good choice for vlogging. The reason why I’m so sure about Nikon D5300 is that I’m currently using this camera for vlogging, and I’m loving it. Actually, I have been using it for almost three years now.
Canon EOS M50 is a mirrorless camera from Canon. It comes with an EF-M 15-45mm lens. The key features include 24.1 Megapixel APS C CMOS sensor, touchscreen LCD, built-in high-resolution electronic viewfinder, and high precision autofocusing. It’s one of the good vlogging cameras for beginners because of the flip screen, light-weight body, and affordable price. As far as personal experience is concerned, I’ve used the Canon EOS M50 camera twice, and I really liked it.
Sony RX100 Mark III is another good vlogging camera for beginners. This camera has a 20.1 MP compact digital camera, 1-inch sensor, and 24-70mm F1.8-2.8 ZEISS zoom lens. Moreover, it’s considered a great competitor and alternative to Canon G7X Mark lll. If I were to choose between Canon G7X and Sony RX100, it would be so difficult to choose between these two cameras.
Sony s6300 is a mirrorless digital camera that comes with a 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 lens. It’s equipped with fast autofocus, 24 MP CMOS sensor, Sony E-mount, and 4K & HD video recording capacity. Sony a6300 has become one of the popular vlogging cameras for the last few years. It’s compact size, color science, and high-quality video recording make this camera a fantastic choice from a vlogging standpoint. Not only have I heard vloggers praising this camera, but I also follow many YouTubers who shoot videos on this camera, and their footage looks great.
So these were a few good vlogging cameras for beginners. I’m sure there are so many other vlogging cameras out there that you could try out. These recommendations are genuinely based on my experience and observation.
I have been vlogging for quite some time — I also talk to other vloggers.
The cameras I shared with you are the best vlogging cameras from my understanding — you’re welcome to disagree with me. I’m already using a Nikon D5300 camera for vlogging. I have a plan to buy a Canon G7X in the future. Therefore, you could understand where these recommendations are coming from. But I’d highly recommend doing your research before buying any of these vlogging cameras; don’t just listen to me.
If you’re starting vlogging, then you must already be following some YouTubers and vloggers. You can check out what cameras they’re using. Look in their video descriptions or search on their channels using search terms like “camera gear” or “my camera” or “new camera.” You’d find out what cameras they like or use.
